Yvette V. Young

President, Yvette V. Young brings over 20 years’ of award-winning performance in the areas of: executive leadership, human capital, fiscal sustainability, non-profit management and fundraising/revenue generation to Children’s Harbor. She has a proven track record of building consensus and driving cooperative relationships with Board of Directors, government agencies, business communities and stakeholders. Ms. Young serves on the board because of her belief that equipping children with the fundamentals early will lead to their long-term success.

Sharon Jones-Hayes

Vice President, Mrs. Jones-Hayes is a retired Sentara Healthcare Manager for over 20 years. Mrs. Jones-Hayes brings a wealth of knowledge in organization management and conflict resolution. Additionally, she is a certified mediator.

Mrs. Jones-Hayes believes that children who have an early education have a better chance for success in life.

Latrenya Turner

Second Vice President, Latrenya Turner brings over 20 years of social work and managerial knowledge and experience. She is currently the Director of Social Work for a large healthcare system. Prior to relocating to Virginia from New York, she worked for a not for profit agency for over 10 years which allowed her to gain a wealth of knowledge in not for profit management. Latrenya also volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for the Girls Scouts of America for several years which speaks to her commitment volunteering and offering guidance and support to young children. As a working mother of two, Latrenya understands how important childcare centers are to working parents and the greatness of learning and building confidence at an early age that childhood education provides to children.

Judy Imdahl-King

Treasurer, Mrs. Imdahl-King has been employed with Jones CPA Group, PC for 20 years concentrating in the areas of attestation and tax. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Anthony Green

Assistant Treasurer, Anthony “Tony” Green, brings over 10 years of financial management and client relationship experience to the board of directors. He joined the board to use his skillset to help influence an organization that improves the lives of children in the community. Tony has an MBA from The College of William and Mary and is also an Assistant Vice President of PRA Group in Norfolk.

Angelia Allen

The Honorable Angelia Allen believes in community service and in education. Her strong commitment to civic engagement is the primary reason that she dedicates much of her time to improving the lives of her most important constituents – the students of Hampton Roads. Ms. Allen is a member of the Portsmouth City School Board and a host of other community boards and organizations.

Thomas Retnauer

Mr. Thomas Retnauer, owner of RBA Architects, a highly regarded local architectural firm and describes himself as the Chief Visionary. Mr. Retnauer brings an abundance of managerial and technical “know how” to the Board of Directors. He also understands how to integrate the latest technologies that have an impact on small business.

Mr. Retnauer has a passion for the youngest generation which is what influenced him in becoming a board member.

Jarryd “JT” Hasty

Commercial Line Risk Advisor, Towne Insurance

Jarryd (J.T.) Hasty is a graduate of Virginia State University located in Petersburg, Virginia, and holds a MBA from Regent University located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon graduation from college, Jarryd went on to pursue a career in the banking industry at Townebank. Since joining Towne, Jarryd has held several positions that range from teller, banking officer, management associate graduate, and Assistant Manager of one of their local branches. After his experience in retail banking, Jarryd went on to pursue his current career as a commercial lines risk advisor for Towne Insurance. In addition to retail banking and commercial insurance, Jarryd is also a licensed Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services by Towne Realty. Holding these positions awarded Jarryd an opportunity to complete the Project Inclusion training offered by the United Way of South Hampton Roads, which teaches young professionals the importance of serving on boards in their communities. As a working father of two children who have spent their time at childcare centers in the area, Jarryd understands the importance of those centers, and what it takes to keep them running successfully. He truly believes that our children are our future, and building the foundation at an early age at childcare centers such as Children’s Harbor plays a major role in shaping that foundation.

Cornelius “Neil” Hudgins

Mr. Cornelius “Neil” Hudgins, IV is a retired Computer Systems Engineer of over 30 years from one of the largest US financial institutions. Mr. Hudgins brings a wealth of knowledge in leadership, integrated technology, and professional development. He has led and been a member of several boards and organizations. He also has a proven track record of fundraising/revenue generation as he leads the Sunday of Hope partnership amongst Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Additionally, he is a licensed insurance agent.

Remembering firsthand the challenges and struggles of finding a safe and affordable early childhood educational environment for his own kids is what motivates Neil to serve on the board and eliminate that worry from other parents of our communities.

Sanyika Evans is currently a Senior Business Analyst with Sentara Healthcare. She has worked with several non-profits organizations over the last 15 years. Sanyika Evans believes that the earlier a child has access to education the more equipped they will be.

Sabrina Bethune

City of Residence: Virginia Beach, VA

Sabrina Bethune is a Registered Nurse who currently serves in the role of Site Director for a Sentara PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) facility in Norfolk, VA. She has worked for Sentara for over 10 years, held various healthcare leadership roles within the organization, and served in the US Navy for 11 years. She views her profession as not just a career, but a calling to care for others in need.

Sabrina has worked with the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Women United-United Way, and American Stroke Association to help raise funds to donate towards research for cures, support families, and educate the community.

Sabrina earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Hampton University. She later earned a Master of Healthcare Administration Degree and Master of Science Degree in Nursing. She currently resides in Virginia Beach with her husband and two daughters.

Cathy Dalton

1981 Graduate of Old Dominion University. Recently retired from a successful 40 year banking career in June 2020 after complications from COVID. As a founding officer of TowneBank in 1999, Cathy served as a Executive Vice President and was responsible Credit Administration area which included training young bankers in Credit Analysis, Small Business lending as well as other departmental responsibilities and procedures. Cathy also serves on the Board of Directors of Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia and served a three year term as Board President until January 2020. She continues to advocate for our senior populations to gracefully age in place and receive all the services possible provided by SSSEVA. Cathy has been married for 39 years to her husband, Marvin Dalton, a retiree of Northrup Grumman Newport News Shipyard after 36 years. They have two grown children and five grandchildren, all of which live locally in the area.
